EV1938 wont work in Win 2000 Pro???

I have a P88TE TwinHead laptop. (slimnote VXE) the vendor
ID is 1102 Device Id is 8938. I found that this is an
Ectiva 1938 sound card (Creative labs SB Audio PCI 64v.) I
cannot find drivers for this sound card. Windows 2000 Pro
identifies When I installed the driver for W2K it siad the
device was working properly, but /i still had no sound so
I uninstalled the driver and now I'm clueless on what to
do now.... Should I install the Win98 driver? If you have
any ideas please let me know. I've been working on this
for about a month now. I'm stuck. THank you for taking the
time to read this.
