I was just wondering if you can get an adaptor that enables you to plug a USB
item into a Fast Ethernet port?

Yes. The connection will of course be slower, but usb/ethernet adapters
are very handy. I use one for clients' machines that don't have an
ethernet card. It is always preferable to use an ethernet network card
to usb, but if you don't want to open the computer case the
usb/ethernet adapter will work fine.

Ethernet to USB exist but the O.P. is looking for USB to Ethernet.

I know that there are several USB adapters/routers where you can connect USB
printers to a USB port. There are even USB hard drive connections.

What device exactly?

No.

What USB device are you trying to connect and to what computer?

Quite right. I misread the post. I thought he wanted a usb-to-ethernet
adapter to get online. If he meant he wanted to connect a normal usb
device like a printer to ethernet, then it seems unlikely. You are
quite right that we need to know exactly what the OP wants to do. Thank
you for catching that.

This still may not be what O.P. wants but try Bilken (search the WEB).
I use a USB-to-Bilken_Ethernet_Adapter port on a test station at work.
WinNT_2k just sees it as another Ethernet connection.

I have a question, I have DSL gate way and there is a ethernet connection on
the back, and i want to hook up my playstaion 2 with it, cant i ust connect
the 2 with a phone cord??

PS2... well a phone cord won't work but a patch cable should connect to a
router if it's the later PS2.

Not a Windows XP issue. But a "phone cord" is not a suitable replacement
for a network patch cable.
