Ethernet Drivers???

I just reinstalled a clean XP Pro on my machine. When I try to make a manual
LAN connettion in My Network Places, it doen't allow me to.

So, I check Device Manager and saw that under Other Decives, my Ethernet
Controller, MultiMedia Controller, Video Controller all have yellow
exclamation marks beside them indicating that they are not recognized.

My actual network card is imbedded into the motherboard its self so its not
like I can remove it. Please advise. Thanks!

When you install an operating system, you then need to install drivers
for your hardware. You need to install your motherboard drivers.

Get drivers from:

1. The device mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM
computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the
drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

1. Read any documentation you got when you bought the computer.
2. If the computer is OEM, go to the OEM's website for your specific
model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers
anyway)
3. Download, install and run a free system inventory program like Belarc
Advisor. The older Aida32 is good for this, too.

Adding a second NIC will do no harm. This is one of my cheats to get a
computer connected to the server where my drivers, and a copy of
aida32, are. Once the drivers for the nic are installed, I remove the
second one. OK so I'm too lazy to fiddle with CDs... ;)

Have you reinstalled the WinXP-specific device drivers (as supplied
by the computer manufacturer) for your Ethernet adapter, Video adapter,
and Sound card?
