Jim

Hello,

Have cable modem with cat5 cable.
Works fine on my laptop via ethernet port.

On my desktop PC, fresh WinXP Sp2 install.
Desktop PC bios has ethernet port enabled.
Windows driver loaded for ethernet port and controller.

All windows 'properties' settings for the port look OK.

Yes on the desktop I get msg 'ethernet cable is not plugg in'
which it is.

Any ideas?'

thanks
Jim

How are you connecting to the Internet with the desktop? Router? ICS
with crossover cable to the laptop?
