Ethernet and Multimedia drivers

On my Device Manager I have a folder, "Other Devices," labeled with the
cursed yellow question mark. In the folder are two items, Ethernet and
Multimedia, but I don't see anything specifically identifying them. How can I
get drivers for these monsters if they won't identify themselves? Of course,
I failed to notice that little problem before I flattened the OS when I
replaced a hard drive. (Grrrrrrr)

I have a Dell Dimension 4600, bought in January, 2003. Is there any way to
get specs on that particular machine from Dell? I have all identifying
numbers, etc., just can't find the original invoice.

Okay, now for a stupid question. Ethernet has something to do with internet
connectivity, I tihnk, so is this a driver for the modem? (I have internet
access.) And could someone tell me what the Multimedia device might be -- I
do not have a clue?!

Thanks!

There should be a 'service tag' on your Dell Dimension. Write down the
information, then go to the Dell website and use the 'service tag' codes to
find the exact original configuration of your Dell as shipped.

'Ethernet' is for a local area network (to other computers, routers,
printers, broadband Internet modems, etc.) If you have broadband access to
the internet, your connection to the cable modem or ADSL modem is probably
through an Ethernet card in your dell, built-in motherboard Ethernet
connection, or a USB connection.

'Multimedia' devices are those that handle sound and/or video content.
