Hey,
Would someone tell me how to set a threshold limit for
attempted log ons? I noticed I had some security
failures in my security log and was told this would be
one way to correct this problem. If you are aware of
another way, that would be helpful too.
Thank you

To edit local security settings

1.. Open Local Security Settings.
2.. Do one of the following:
a.. To edit Password Policy or Account Lockout Policy, in the console
tree, click Account Policies.
b.. To edit an Audit Policy, User Right Assignment, or Security Options,
in the console tree, click Local Policies.
3.. In the details pane, double-click the policy that you want to modify.
4.. Make the changes you want and click OK.
5.. To change other policies, repeat the two previous steps.
Notes

a.. To open Local Security Policy, click Start, click Control Panel,
double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Local Security
Policy.
b.. If you would like to edit the security settings for file system,
registry, and system services on the local computer, you must first edit the
changes in the form of a security template and then configure the computer
using Security Configuration and Analysis.
Account Policies - Account Lockout Policies.

Another way to do what?

Hi Oleg,

(Pro only) Start/run secpol.msc to access the account lockout policies.
