Establish network connection

Hi..I'm using my computer for private use. I use ATT/Yahoo as my internet
provider and main email. My computer is a Dell with Windows XP and Outlook
2003. I would like to use Outlook also.
The problem: After numerous attempts to set up Outlook with ATT tech
support, I get the error message: Establish network connection: Unable to
connect to the internet, verify connection settings. I've verified and
verified. The dial-up # is correct and works fine with Yahoo. The ports #'s
are in 110 out 25. I've gone thru the wizard more times than I have teeth
and still no luck. Granted, I'm not a "pro" but I'm trying my best. Can
anyone help me?

Addendum...sorry, I should also say I can send email but not receive
it...when I click on Send/Receive it sucks the mail from my Yahoo account and
it disappears.

I had the same problem setting up my gmail account. I finally revisited the
setup options on my gmail account site. There I discovered additional info
that helped me to finally get the job done. You might try that with your
yahoo mailbox setup instructions to see if there are any additional
instructions that help. I know how frustrating this can be because at the
momebt I have no Outlook access and no blogs or tech support to help me with
my specific issue. Good luck.

And when you go to Tools>Accounts>Change.......then test are there any error
msgs?
If no errors check your View settings

i'm haviing the same problem as Betsy, same DSL provider and I have even had
live chat support from ATT DSL and they had me disable my virus scan and
firewall, and it worked for a while, but in a day or two, no connectivity
AGAIN! it's a pain to always have to go to the web to do your email.

If the AT&T tech can't help, it's unlikely we can, but the POP server should
be pop.att.yahoo.com, the SMTP server should be smtp.att.yahoo.com, the POP
port should be 995 with the "SSL" option enabled, and the SMTP port should
be 465 with the SSL option enabled. The username and poassword should be
your AT&T Yahoo username and password (with the domain included) and you
should have outgoing server authentication enabled to use the same
credentials as the incoming server.

Brian, thanks for the reply..been out of town on biz....I tried that info too
as it was on the Yahoo ATT website...didn't work. Have opted to use a local
pro to go thru a total cleanup and reinstall...nothing else to do at this
point. Thanks again to all!
