Errors when opening Access 2003 file in Access 2007

I have run into several errors when trying to open an Access 2003 file in
Access 2007. The first error I receive is when I try to open the database
file.

“An error occurred while loading ‘ReportFileName’. Do you want to continue
loading the project?â€

If I choose no then I receive this error,

“The database cannot be opened because the VBA project contained in it
cannot be read. The database can be opened only if the VBA project is first
deleted. Deleting the VBA project removes all code from modules, forms and
reports. You should back up your database before attempting to open the
database and delete the VBA project

To create a backup copy, click Cancel and then make a backup copy of your
database. To open the database and delete the VBA project without creating
a backup copy, click OK.â€

I click cancel because I don’t want to delete my VBA module that I use (and
that works under Access 2003)

If I then try to open any report (not just the one that created the error) I
get the same two errors above. If I click No to the first error and Cancel
to the next Error the errors just repeat in a loop and there is no ending
them.

So, finally I clicked yes to the first error (Continue loading project) and
these errors seem to go away. Then I tried to copy and paste a report (not
the report that caused the errors) and I get the following error,
“The operation on the | object failed.

The OLE server may not be registered.

To register the OLE server, reinstall it.â€

The new report I tried to paste does not show up. But then if I change
views (say to look at tables then at reports again) the new report is now
visible.

However, I am now unable to save any changes made to the report. If I try
and close the report or the application it asks me if I want to save changes.
I click yes but the report screen never closes and I can continue to try and
close the application or report screen and Access continues to ask me if I
would like to save. It never does save. "Save As..." also does not work.

If I do "Save As..." I can then close the report view without any more save
prompts but the report does not get saved. If I then try and quit the
application I get the following error message,

“The Save operation failed.â€

Then another dialog

“Access could not save your project.

Do you want to cancel the close operation?
*To cancel the close operation, click Yes.
*To close without saving, click No.â€

If I click Yes I am back where I started. If I click No I am back where I
started (because I have already lost my saved changes. They did not save
when I closed the report view).

I was just wondering if anyone else has run into issues such as this. Maybe
somebody has some ideas on what is causing this or a solution to try. I have
already tried compacting and repairing the database in both Access 2003 and
2007. Thank you for any help you provide.

Okay, I went ahead and let Access delete the VBA code (after backing up my
database of course). Now when I try and copy and paste a report I get the
following error,

"Name conflicts with existing module, project, or object library."

This happens no matter what I name the new report. I even tried random
characters and numbers such as 234jsf23f and the error still happens.

Just thought I would add another interesting bit of information. I cannot
rename the reports either. They just revert back to their old names. No
error message is given.
