Errors in IE when closing

B

blarney

Yesterday 11/5/ at 4:42 PM I wrote about IE error message when closing
the browser.
"IE has encountered an problem and will now close" Send report
-Don't send"

I am running Windows ME. I also have the Netscape browser on the
machine.

Today I closed I E and looked at the details of the problem and the
following was listed:

Module 1 Keyline .DLL
Module 2 Schannel.dll
this went on through module 113 Kernet.DLL

Also Thread 1 thru 27 and Memory Range.DLL 1 thru 29

What in the world is all that and what can I do to correct it?

Should I just go ahead and reinstall over the one on my computer,
please help and tell me, if anyone knows, what to do. It is
frustrating to have to deal with this.

Please only helpful reponses.

Hi,
This is probably being caused by a third-party program- possibly an adware,
spyware, parasite program.
Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Additional information at:

Or...
A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable
(for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, toolbars,
security, anti-virus, etc. You may have to reinstall, or not reinstall, a
program. I've seen reports that reinstalling Norton AV (if you're running
it) may fix this.

Hope this helps,
Don
