I want to get rid of two errors in Event Viewer - both occur at the end of
booting. Neither seem to be affecting any function/performance. Both seem
to be 'services'

The first one is
Genesys Logic USB Controller failed to start. The service cannot be
started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices
associated with it.
[ this may have been used by a flash card reader, but the flash card reader
has been long uninstalled]

The second one is PfModNT service failed to start because the system cannot
find the file specified.

=> Where can I look in the registry to find these being started?

I've already looked in msconfig and LocalMachine\..\Run in the registry.

All services are either Automatic or Manual, except IPsec - which is
disabled by the VPN software.

thanks

There are NOT errors, but merely telling you what's not loading. Can be
perfectly natural and in fact, saving you from a real problem.

Good point. But, I'd still like to 'fix' my system so it doesn't even try
to load drivers that either it can't find or might cause a problem - make
sense?

Thanks

[Off the cuff reply :)] One could always search the registry and delete
the key(s) that are trying to call/load the specific files/filenames you
see trying to load?
