Errors in event log for directx sevice

I have tons of this message in my system event log and they all are only a
minute or so apart. I constantly receive this error everyday. The error is:

Description:
The DirectX Service service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1

I have searched all over but no info anywhere so far. It looks as though the
directx service keeps stopping for some reason. I am running Winxp Pro Sp2,
directx 9c with an evga 7600gt pci-e with all the latest dr.ivers

Try uninstall the video drivers and install the latest nVidia drivers for
your card (even if yours are the latest, do it anyway in case something's

Install the latest download of the DirectX redistributable from here and
install it:

Thanks for the suggestion but have already done that multiple times with the
most current version and other recent version but did not fix the problem.
Any other ideas anyone?

Sorry didn't see the part about installing the redistributable. I'll try that
and see if it helps. Thanks.
