I am trying to install a CD - Burner aplicatin that will
burn cd's with a special format. Sony is the
distribuitor. When I install the program, at the end of
the installation I get this message...

IKernel.exe - Application Error

The instruction at "0x771c732a"referenced memory
at "0x00163598". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program.

After I restart my computer I find that both my CD drives
have dissapeared and they are not detected.

When I look at my device manager it says in the
properties of the CD drives say the following.

-SAMSUNG CD-R/RW SW-240B says...
Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this
hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)

-SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-616F says...
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its
configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete
or damaged. (Code 19)

I am very frustrated and want to use this software as
soon as possible.

Please help. I'm Desprate.

First, restore from an earlier date of the installation of that soft.
You can do that going to Accesories --> System Tools --> System restore.
After that, you might to verify if the soft you're installing is compatible
with XP, and what are their requirements.
