Hi Kathy,

There are hundreds of possibilities for this type of error. Let's start by
taking a look at the FBA log located at \Windows\fba\fbalog.txt. Attach the
log to this thread and let us have a look.

Hi All
Please provide me the solution, problem is as below:

- Pushed an image to client, Logged in through Administraotr and disabled to
Write Filter
- system rebooted, Chnaged the date to April3,2005 and time to 1:58 AM
[(GMT -05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)]
- Enable Write filter and Reboot
- Time shows 3:01 AM
- Again reboot and time shows 4:02 AM
- Again reboot and time shows 5:02 AM

Means : after every boot. System shows one hour ahead with the previous time

Thanks
Kathy

Katheryne,

You may want to disable DST (Daylight Time saving) in your runtime.
Set the DisableAutoDaylightTimeSet=dword:1 value under [HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation] key.

I am sorry that you have spent so much valuable time on this problem.

See all the related values here:

Beside the DisableAutoDaylightTimeSet you would also want to set DaylightBias=0.

All you do is set up the required settings for the Time Zone (e.g., the Eastern Daylight Time) and then capture the reg.values under
[HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation].

Make sure to set DisableAutoDaylightTimeSet=1 and DaylightBias=0.

Katheryne,

You lost me. I thought you were on the right track.

Anyway, I don't think I can add anything more to what have been said in this thread.

Just to summarize:
- you set up the Eastern Daylight Time settings at run time
- you capture the reg.settings mentioned on the TimeZone tip page:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/embedded/community/community/tips/xp/timezone/default.aspx
- you set DisableAutoDaylightTimeSet=1 and DaylightBias=0
- you integrate the fixed reg.entries back to your image and make sure to commit the changes (or have them added in TD)

Katheryne,
Here I am writing the steps i followed.
Please let me know if i missed any step of the following

a.. Disabled the Write filter
b.. [HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation]. Set "DaylightBias=0"
a.. Previous the value of "DaylightBias = ffffffc4.
c.. Changed the date/time by click "date/time" icon in system tray.
a.. Date: 3rd April 2005
b.. Time: 1:58:00 AM,
c.. TimeZone: (GMT -05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada).
d.. "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes" box : "checked"

I thought you wanted this turned off? :)

d.. Enabled the Write Filter
e.. Rebooted the system.

Result

a.. Time was coming as 2:01 AM
b.. On second reboot time was 2:02 AM
Thanks
Kathy

Katheryne,

All you do is set up the required settings for the Time Zone (e.g., the Eastern Daylight Time) and then capture the reg.values
under
[HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation].

Make sure to set DisableAutoDaylightTimeSet=1 and DaylightBias=0.

Thanks KM
But my problem is not with "Pecefic daylight time"
My problem is with "Eastern Daylight time"

Please suggest : Should I make the same registry setting as in "pecefic daylight time" or is there anything change?
This issue has become very much critical for me and still not get resolved.
Please help me out.

Thanks and Regards
Kathy

Katheryne,

I am sorry that you have spent so much valuable time on this problem.

See all the related values here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/embedded/community/community/tips/xp/timezone/default.aspx

Beside the DisableAutoDaylightTimeSet you would also want to set DaylightBias=0.

Also, please read through this thread:

Hi KM
Even though by changing the registry setting, time is not coming properly,
Please provide me the solution for the same. I am struggling with this issue since last 10 Days.]

Thanks
Kathreryne

Hi KM

The vaue of "DisableAutoDaylightTimeSet=dword" is already :1. then also, time is not coming properly.
Is there any other change i have to make?

Regards
Katheryne

Katheryne,

You may want to disable DST (Daylight Time saving) in your runtime.
Set the DisableAutoDaylightTimeSet=dword:1 value under [HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation] key.
