Error With Windows Explorer

I have just installed the XP Upgrade pack including SP2 onto my laptop. When
it started up for the first time an error message appeared saying that there
was an error with Explorer and that it would close. This meant that the
desktop did not display, no taskbar/start menu/desktop icons. I can still
access parts of my computer by Ctrl+Alt+Del and running new tasks but this is
obviously really inconvenient... This happens everytime I reboot.... Any
suggestions? I'd be eternally grateful!!

Sass,

Gather more information about the error, from the Event Log:
