Hi there
Hopefully anyone can help me with following problem
I created the 4 boot disks for Win2000
When I trie to install a system with this disks, I get an error on the second disk saying
"File \hal.dll could not be loaded. The error code is 7"

Is this recognized by someone ? If so, can you help me with a solution

Thanks in advance

Kurt

Kurt,

Go reformat 4 more floppies with an NT machine and format (not quick format) check to see at
the end that you do not have any bad sectors. Some of the floppies need all the room. Then
Get the files from www.bootdisk.com or make one on an NT machine. The procedure in the Help
files.

Hi dcdon,

Tried your solution, but that didn't work unfortunately.
Guess my CD must be defective.
However, meanwhile I found the solution a bit further on in the newsgroup :

check out : http://www.tech24.com/tools/bootdisk.asp ( posted by Reni Ninan )
Here you can download almost any bookdisks you need.

Thanks for your reply !

See ya

Kurt

I had this same Error with a Windows XP CD. I tried several things to
get past it, the only thing that seemed to work was changing the bank
the memeory was in. Then I got a similar error about the ntsokernmp
file. I worked around that by turning on PnP OS in the BIOS. Now I
have an entirely different problem, but I thouhght I would post some
clues as to what helped me along.
