Error with MSVCRT.DLL

Whenever I get on the internet, I get the following error
message......" Explorer has caused an error in
MSVCRT.DLL. Explorer will now close" If I click "close",
my screen goes blank and I can't do any thing but shut off
the computer. Can anyone help?????
