Error when trying to FTP

When I try to FTP to the web server not running
extensions, I get an error stating 550 conf: Permission
error. I can't seem to find this error listed in the
help.

Have you checked with your host, as a 500 error is generated by the server.

you should be using http: publish method on the server running server extensions,
not FTP.
