We often need complete error messages, not just a summary of them, to
offer much help. Right click on the error message and copy all of it to
your next message.

Also, a number of antivirus programs cause assorted problems in Windows
Mail, although slowly enough that they seldom show up immediately.
You might get a useful answer faster if you tell us what if any antivirus
programs you have, and whether you've ever had a Norton or McAfee
antivirus program on that computer since Vista was installed, even if it
was one of the free trial versions that often come already installed on
new computers.

This error message keeps coming up i have done all the trouble shooting ect.
I am using windows mail - Vista - when I bought this new computer they
installed Trend Micro internet sercuity Pro @ Best buy have had computer
since March, Have had numerous problems with my email but this is most recent
that continues to reappear everytime I sign on to it . i sent some others out
and get error messages but it seems it is sending . last week it would send
the same messages out 3 or 4 times seems that has cleared up . Help is
appreciated

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'Undisclosed-Recipient:;'. Subject 'Re: 158
years ago', Account: 'mail.grandecom.net', Server: 'mail.grandecom.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 5.1.3 <Undisclosed-Recipient:;>...
List:; syntax illegal for recipient addresses', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Evidently you addressed all your recipients via BCC, and failed to put
anything on the To line. Some fussy mail servers (like yours) will not
accept that. Put your own email address on the To line, and try again.

well I still am unable to send emails Now when trying to send emails a error
message comes up and it says:

Your SMTP server has not responded in 60 seconds. Would you like to wait
another 60 seconds for server to Respond.

Account: mail.grandecom.net
server:mail.grandecom.net

and if I click yes it comes up ever 60 sec. if I press no it shows windows
mail box error as follows

Subject 'show them', Account: 'mail.grandecom.net', Server:
'mail.grandecom.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number: 0x800CCC19

This is getting very frustrating!

That type of error is often caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
For more information on why email scanning is bad, see

Trend Micro is among the top three troublemakers for Windows Mail.
Symptoms often don't start until months later.
The only way you can prove or disprove that Trend Micro is the culprit
is to uninstall it.

Another option is to upgrade to Windows Live Mail, which is more
resistant to the adverse effects of aggressive antivirus products:
http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

In any case you must disable any antivirus email scanning, for the reason
explained here:
