Whenever i log on to my windows XP desktop a RunDLL error pops up saying:

C:\\WINDOWS\Sdkyo.dll

specified module could not be loaded.

i tired searching at dll-files.com and tried searching the net to find out what program uses this file and i cant find it anywhere.

i also tried to run msconfig and see if somehow it got disabled in the selective startup, yet, it's not there- and i am clueless as to what to do.

i'm rather computer-literate so feel free to give any suggestions- im sure i can handle them. i'm just absolutley stumped by this one.

all comments and suggestions welcome, thanks!

Hi

Have you virus-checked your system with latest definitions for your AV
program and also checked for any spyware that may be on your system:

Ad-Aware - www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/
CWShredder - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Also see the following links:

Sdkyo.dll is not a Window file and you may delete the corresponding entry from startup. You may try Autoruns utility:

This filename seems to be a randomly generated (afaik) and you may delete the entry. Follow Will Denny's advice and eliminate spyware (AV software won't remove spyware entirely)

OK-

I have updated Norton ANTI-V and i already use spybot and have found nothing harmful that way- I also use the stinger program everytime its updated to check for any other malicious stuff. Those found nothing but with the AUTORUNS program from sysinternals.com found the C:\WINDOWS\Sdkyo.dll file

Thankfully tho i did find the file entry and it was in the registry at:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\Run

any cause for alarm by this? or is having it disabled going to be good enough?

Thanks for all of your help so far!

chris.
