error VsTskMgr.exe

I have been tidying up a friends laptop,now when the laptop is started the
following error comes up.

VsTskMgr.exe Encountered a problem and needed to close.
This error occurred on 27/03/2008 at 12:50

it may have something to do with Mcafee, Which is one of the things that I
uninstalled by means of add/remove then used the Mcafee Uninstalling Tool.
Advice Needed on how to cure this error please.

If you think this question should have been posted in a different Group

Hi Tony,
Yes, you are right this is a McAfee Task Manager process, try to remove from
the startup list by doing this:
Open a run command and type in:
msconfig click [OK], on the system Configuration click on Start Up Tab
and uncheck the check box for it there.
To remove it permanently from he system look in this Directory:

C:\ Program files\ Mcafee\ virusscan enterprise\ vstskmgr.exe
If you can try in Safe Mode.
Also from the registry here:
Open a run command and type in:
regedit click [OK] locate these keys:

[-]KEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run = Look in
the right pane/window for it and remove it.
Also here remove the service:
[-]HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \McTaskManager
McAfee Task Manager

thank you for the reply,My friend as had to go back home along with her
laptop,I will try your suggestions the next time she visits (may be a few
weeks on). I will let you know how I go on when I have tried your fix.
