Error trying to update

G

Guest

I just installed WD on a computer and it errors out when I try to run
updates. When I run the manual updates I get a pop up that states “Windows
Defender was unable to complete the update: ox80070643. Fatal error during
installation.â€

In uninstalled and again tried it. This time I ran the install from web. It
appears to install and I tell it to go ahead and update and scan I get the
following error “ a network error occurred while attempting to read from file
c:\...WindowsDefender.msiâ€

Any ideas?

Hi GBeebe,

In the Search For: box toward the top of this window enter GrahamU (or you
can type the titulo of the Subject, in this particular case: Update error

installation in the drop up menu, and selected and press Go.

Also have a look to this:

Have an idea with the post from GrahamU, maybe sound complicated but is
common sense.

With the info supply ftom you, I or another helper can help you better

Good luck.

Your using the HTML web browser newsreader, at the top of this page there's
a box that says Search For: and another that says In:
Type or paste GrahamU or the actuall subject in the Search For: box, and
pick Installation in the drop down menu on the other box.
Then look at the Search Result dated 4/15/2006
