Hello. I've been getting this error quite frequently when I try to open a
new mail message: "There was an error opening this message. There is not
enough memory." Mail then freezes and I have to restart it.

Sometimes I only have mail running, and I have 2046 RAM, so there should
be plenty of memory. I am currently running Windows Visa Home Premium.

Thanks, Karina

This sounds like your antivirus is interfering with Windows Mail.
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee and Norton
antivirus programs. As a test, uninstall your antivirus, then
reboot, and test Windows Mail again. If there is improvement,
download and install a more compatible antivirus like:
AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
or
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom
install, and then deselect the email scanning option.

This often means interference from an antivirus program. What if any
antivirus
programs do you have?

This sometimes supplies a temporary fix: Download and install this hotfix,
with Windows Mail not running:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it's labelled as for mail stuck in the Outbox, it also works in
other folders. If you don't know whether you have a 32-bit version
of Vista or a 64-bit version, try the hotfix for the 32-bit version first.

I just got this message today and nevr had a problem with it before.....my
computer does not freeze up, just states "There was an error opening this
message. There is not enough memory." I too have plenty of memory......how
do i fix this problem???
