error "Server service not started"

I'm connected to a LAN and can access everything
properly, but when i try to share my shared folder i get
an error "server service not started." What does this
mean and how can i start my server service?

Open a command prompt and type "net start lanmanserver". Post back if you
get an error.

I have tried this and the error I get is 193 and not a valid win 32 application what now????

You may need to get a fresh copy of srvsvc.dll for your \windows\system32
folder from your XP CD.

What brand of machine is this?
