Error sending through SMTP server at home, but not at work.

It's the weirdest damn thing. My notebook connects to my POP server
(SMTP is same IP Address) at work through either the hardwire network
port, or through the wireless. No problems sending through SMTP or
receiving through POP either way of connecting. I bring the notebook
home and I can receive email through POP no problem, but cannot send.
No settings have changed between work and home. I can ping our POP/SMTP
server and get good tone either at home or at work.

Is it possible there is some setting I need to look at on my home
router? Or am I missing something with Outlook's access to SMTP server
when the notebook is not accessing our domain at work? Here is a raw
dump of the error, with the IP changed for security:

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx',
Server: 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Thanks in advance for any help in clearing this up.

The isp you use at home is blocking access to the work SMTP. Who is your
internet provider at home? you'll likely need to use their SMTP server.

If I ever have any children in some future life, I promise to name one
after you. Thank you very, very much Diane. Funny that... my wife's
name is Diane as well. Are all highly-intelligent women named Diane ?
I wonder... At any rate, merci beaucoup... vielen danke... mille
grazie... and muchos gracias. This did the trick indeed. I may not be
able to name a child after you in this lifetime, but you have my
profound thanks for making my day better. Take care.

As your wife will surely agree, yes, of course. <g>
