How to take ownership of a file or folder in Windows XP
With XP Home you must boot into Safe Mode to change from
simple file sharing.
SP2 does restrict running exe files, but should give you a
popup message to ask your permission. See the security
center on the control panel to see that it is properly
configured.

The people think the Constitution protects their rights;
But government sees it as an obstacle to be overcome.
| Thanks Jim, I checked that out and unfortunately I cannot
see
| the Content.IE5 folder to change it. I did try on the
"Temporary
| Internet Files" folder and that did not have the security
tab.
|
| Your tip led me to install the Microsoft Baseline Security
| Analyzer. What is interesting is that this one downloaded
and
| ran normally. It was an .msi file. So now it feels like
the problem
| is related to .exe files.
