Dear All,

A few days ago we had a power cut at work and
from that day every time we start the PC an error message
pops up "saying the system has recovered from a serious error.."
so i try to find ways to stop that error report
if i send the error report it opens a web page saying "error report
corrupted"
i did a system restore to a few days before the power cut but still no joy.

Please is there a way to stop that specific error report
without disabling windows error reporting?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Carlos.

The error message will go away when you fix the problem that is causing
it. Try running Chkdsk first:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/chkdsk.mspx

If Chkdsk doesn't fix it, then use the System File Checker to make sure
system files weren't corrupted by the power outage.

Start>Run>sfc /scannow [enter]
Have your XP cd handy as you may need it.

If SFC doesn't work, then you may need to do a Repair Install.

In any case, buy yourself an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for the
future.
