I am getting this error report: This application has failed to start because
MSVCR70.dll was not found. ybrwicon.exe was in the top part of the box.

I called Toshiba and they said that I needed to download a patch from
Microsoft. She, of course, made it sound like this was a specific problem
that they are seeing a lot of but when I try to search for a solution or
patch I can find nothing.

You could try searching for the DLL at http://www.dll-files.com and placing
it in Windows\System32 to see if it lets the app work again.

Try reinstalling the program, also try and locate the file on disc etc.

Which program is it?

I have no idea! I am not a techie but really want to learn. Is there a way
to find out what program this is? And, by the way, this laptop is only five
days old! ~echo

It is part of the Yahoo browser

I got the following information from a Google search.

YBRWICON.EXE GENERAL INFO
Author: Yahoo
Part of: BT Yahoo Browser
Common Path: %programfiles%\YAHOO!\BROWSER\YBRWICON.EXE

If you have the Yahoo browser software installed then Yahoo should be where
you are looking for support information.

I have used Yahoo as my ISP since 2003. Yahoo's browser, which is a
customized Internet Explorer browser, is not compatible with Vista. I think
YBRWICON.EXE places the Yahoo icon on your taskbar. Disable it. It's just one
more thing loading at startup. You don't need it. Of course, I could be
wrong. You should continue to seek help from a knowledgeable person.
