error report on exiting Internet explorer

I am running Windows XP Professional with internet explorer
6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2.

When exiting IE i get a pop up saying:

The instruction at 0x01b2fb80 referenced memory at "0x014bad58", the memory
could not be "read"

click OK to terminate the program

I had reloaded windows a couple of months ago on a new hard drive and it
was fully updated. It had been working fine until about a week ago.

I am running Norton System Works fully up to date and that and defender find
no malicious software. I do worry about cleanup and wonder if it has deleted
some necessary temp file.

Nothing seems not to work (sorry about the double negative)

Can anyone suggest where I start in addressing this annoying popup?

Hi,
It's likely that another program is causing this- possibly legitimate-
possibly malware.

From IE> Tools> Manage add-ons. Disable add-ons to see if one of them is the
culprit.

ToolbarCop from http://windowsxp.mvps.org/toolbarcop.htm may find an add-on,
BHO or context menu item you've overlooked.

Disable (for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers,
security, toolbars and other add-ons for IE, anti-virus, etc. Take a look at
any program that might be interfering with IE. You may have to reconfigure,
reinstall, or not reinstall, a program. Turn on the Windows Firewall (from
Control Panel or Security Center) before disabling a third-party firewall.

If not caused by a legitimate program, you should conduct a thorough search
for malware.

Thankyou, it turns out to be a plugin for a pdf to word converter I installed
a couple of weeks ago.

Your post was the answer. I am very grateful
