Error report in Event viewer

when i try to download my system restarts on its own and i get some errors in
the event viewer, details are here below:
source event ID category
Application error 1004 (100)
Application error 1000 (100)
McLogEvent 5051 none
McLogEvent 5000 none

i will like someone to help me out cos i need to download some softwares
today, pls. thanks

Windows XP reboots automatically when a fatal error occurs.

Disable automatic rebooting.

Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
Click the Advanced tab.
Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and
Recovery dialog box.
Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary
number of times.
Restart.

Now look at the screen carefully.
