Error reading Switch Board table

Hi,

I cannot get my Switchboard to work. Here is what I'm doing (possibly
wrong!)...

Swtichboard Manager > New... [text = "Add Record"] OK
Add Record > Edit > New...
Text = Add New Record
Command = Open Form in Add Mode
Form = Form1 > OK > Close > Close
Goto Forms > Switchboard

This form only shows one 'button' with the text, "There no items for this
Switchboard page."
If I click on the 'button' an error appears, "There was an error reading the
Switchboard Items table." Whatever I try I cannot get the Switchboard to
show anything apart from this one line of 'error' text.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong or how to fix this error? Thanks in

Is there a Switchboard Items table? If so, anyone tried to mess with it
manually instead of the Switchboard tool?

You might want to do a Compact and Repair in hopes of fixing the table.

I've seen problems after splitting a database with the Switchboard. I
usually keep the Switchboard Items table in the Front End of a split database.

If worse comes to worse, you may need to delete both the Switchboard Items
table and Switchboard form and start over OR import both from a good backup.

Thanks for the swift reply Jerry.

There is a Switchbard Items table and no-one else has access to the
database. I tried a compact and repair but this didn't resolve the problem.
The Db isn't split either. I've tried deleting both the Switchboard form and
table and started over again but the same error applies. I think it's an
install issue as it wont work on a colleagues PC's either.
