error reading boot sector

Computer won't boot up, although using a boot disk in a:
I can see c:drive, and f:(cd rom) however recovery disk
says "error reading boot sector" and will not recover the
c:, can anyone help me?

A boot floppy will not be able to read the XP boot disk. Tey booting with
your XP CD.
