Error "Out of Memory"

I work with an end user that gets this error in Excel 2000
when she open multiple files. The files are very large,
one is just over 30MB. The other 3 are between 15MB and
5MB. Together they total just over 50 MB of total files
opened by Excel 2000. Is this a system error, or an Excel
error? Is there a limit to the file buffer size in Excel
2000? If so what is that limit?
