In Microsoft Office 2003 XP, I am running Microsoft Access 2003 SP2 and what
I'm trying to do is link to an Excel File and run a query that appends to the
Excel File. Unfortunately I keep getting this error: Operation Must Use An
Updateable Query. I'm not able to write to the Excel file.

If I do the exact same thing in Microsoft Access 2000, I don't get this error.

I went to the Macro Securtiy and changed it to Low, but that didn't seem to
help.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can try next?

Thank you,

Sarah

Yes it is and I did get a chance to look at the work arounds, but because the
code requires the location of the Microsoft Access and Micorosoft Excel
executable files, this won't work for me. I have multiple users with
different system environments located in different locations using the
database as a stand alone database in their corporations. The locations fo
their executable files could vary.

Do you know of any other WEB sites which have alternative work arounds?

Thanks,

Sarah

I don't I'm afraid, and as they said in kb it is a legal issue (I guess due
to anti-competition legislation) there may well be a bit of a gap that people
are unsure of whether it is legal to fill it or not.

Short of piggy-backing a separate 'mini' front-end in A2k to ship with
it..........
....I don't know sorry.
