Error opening or publishing - cannot lock file service.cnf

C

chris

using Frontpage 2000 on Windows XP w/ SP1a. Web server is
windows 2000 server with frontpage extensions. I have my
offline versions of MyWebs in My Documents which is
located on a file share on a windows 2000 server. When I
open the web and try to open a page for editing or when I
try to publish the web to the IIS Server I get a lot of
the following errors:

cannot lock file service.cnf

Does anyone know what causes this or how to fix it. It
prevents saving or publishing from succeeding.

The admin of the server need to delete the *.lck file and then run a check on the extensions.
You need to search for and delete *.web files.
