error on startup

When I switch on my computer at the start up menu I
receive the following message:-

RUNDLL

Error loading C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvCpl.dll

A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine
failed.

Also my screen resolution shows I am at the lowest
resolution but when I try to change this nothing happens.
This seems to have happened since I downloaded DirectX9.
Also a game I was able to play previous to this is now
showing that my video card is not compatiable.

I do not know what has happened and would appreciate any
help or advice you can give me.

I was also trying to instal a gamepad and all these
problems seems to have started from that. I have still
not been able to instal gamepad.

Thank you

Celia

You need to reinstall your video card drivers. Do you
still have the original CD? If not, find the latest
version of NvCpl.dll on the Internet and install it to
your %windir%\system32 directory (overwrite the old
one). Don't forget to register it before you restart
your computer again. If you don't know how to register a
library, go here:

If you need more instructions, please post your question
here:

Best of luck,
Frankie
