error on starting outlook 2007

Hello I have started Outlook 2007 ands a window displays and says this

"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window.
The set of folders cannot be opened. Errors have been detected in the file
c:\Users\ffallas\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\mailbox.pst. Quit outlook
and all mail-enabled applications, and then use the inbox repair tool
(Scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair errors in the file. For more
information about the inbox reapir tool, see help.

I have run the application but almost at the end of the repairing tool it
says an unknown error exists and the repair tool cannot go on, then I go to
the "mail" icon on the control panel and access "data files" icon and I have
click on the personal folders where the so intended "mailbox.pst" file exists
and click on settings and the following message appears

"an unknown error occurred, error code:0x80040600"

Whenever I step on the info for this error the same steps as I said before
applies and nothing happened
I appreciate your help
