Error on installation of Windows 2000 on Compaq Presario 5000

I'm trying to install Windows 2000 on a Compaq Presario
5000 (Model 5BW112) and I reformatted the C drive before
installation.

The problem I'm having is that after Windows completes the
initial file transfer process, reboots and begins the
installation process --- it stops about half way through --
- and gives me a blue screen with the error message:

*** STOP: 0x00000C2 (0x00000007, 0x00000B8A, 0x815A7C20,
0x815A7C28) BAD_POOL_CALLER

Got any ideas?

I'm stumped.
