Your disk is probably too large for Win2000 to recognise - see
here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;305098

My personal preference would be to install Win2000 in a much smaller
partition, e.g. 10 GBytes, and leave the rest for my data on a separate
partition. This makes subsequent handling such as updates, backups etc.
much easier. It also gets around the limitation you have struck.
