When I boot my XP Home PC, I get an error that reads:

Stop: C000021a {Fatal System Error}
THe Session Manager Initialization System Process terminated unexpectedly
with a status of 0xc0000034 (0x00000000 0x00000000).

The system has been shut down.

I cannot get into Safe Mode or Normal Mode. I tried to use the Last Known
Good Configuration, but that did not work either. What is preventing me to
boot up, and how do I fix this? I do not know that I can re-install XP, as
this PC came only with Recovery CD's and I really need to keep the data/apps
that are on the HDD. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Jeff

Hi,

When you only have recovery disks, your options are limited. You might want
to see if this applies:

But, otherwise you may be facing that which you dread the most. You need to
be able to work from the Recovery Console at the very least, there is a boot
disk set that you might use described here:

0xC000021A: STATUS_SYSTEM_PROCESS_TERMINATED

Always have a full and complete backup of important data, and have the
original media for all installed software.
