Error OLMAPI32.dll in Outlook 2007 beta.

After installing the MS updates this week, Outlook will not open. Error
OLMAPI32.dll
I have run repair from add and remove programes, and Office Diagnositacs.

No luck.

I have the same problem. new PC with Vista. Loaded Office 2007 suite with
Outlook 2007 app. It worked fine for a few days. Then I had data transfered
from my old PC. It had outlook express files that ended up loading into the
other mail program Windows Mail. Now I can't open Outlook 2007.. I get
"outlook failed to launch in safe mode, etc". When I run the Detect and
Repair option, it comes back with "Microsoft office standard 2007 setup
completed succesfully". Then when I try to reopen outlook 2007, I get an
error box displaying OLMAPI32.dll... and "microsoft outlook has stopped
working. a problem caused th eprogram to stop working." no solution has
been identified to me yet.

Then I tried to re-load office 2007 agian via CD. When listing the apps
that can be loaded, it now shows the Outlook app as not accessible on the CD.


I see the suggestion from before on registering the dll file at command
prmpt. Would that work in my circumstance? If so, how do I get to the
command promptto type in your suggestion?

Which data did you transfer, by what method and which files did you
overwrite during that process?

to transfer files.. I used software Transfer your pc ver 2). I transfered
all files, after I removed older application programs from old pc. I don't
think anything was over-written becasue my Outlook 2007 worked fine for a day
after the transfer. So I have to believe that something else may have caused
the problem. After a day of using it outlook 2007 without issues, I do
remember that outlook prompted me with a question.. "outlook has detected a
new account, would you like to import it? !! this new account was found in
outlook express or windows mail. I did import it. Perhaps that is what
hosed it for me.

Since then... I reversed the transfer. uninstalled Micr Office 2007 and then
re-installed it. Was able to open outlook again. when I got the question
about importing, I repsonded with a NO this time.

Am going to try to transfer again.. but this time i will remove any mail
programs. I was hoping to transfer my outlook express address book and mail
message folders to Outlook, but I'm suspecting that Microsoft cannot handle
this. UNLESS, do you have any suggestions? I would prefer to not start over.

I would recommend creating a new mail profile and reset your dat-files.
