Error Msg: "Could not complete this operation because and assertion failed"

In attempting to 'save a file for web' in Adobe Photoshop
7 I've suddenly started receiving the above message.
Have recently made some change in the system - primary
being upgrade to '2004 Norton Internet Security Pro'.

Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop, but
problem continues and I can not find any ref to this
error code in help section of MSN.

Really need this function in Photoshop. Help?
