Hi,
I have brought a second-hand Dell Dimensiom 8400 and have replaced the
memory, HDD's, CPU and Video Card and also transferred a few other parts
over from another system which never gave me any problems, they are DVD-RW,
Modem, USB Card.
The 8400 system has had the motherboard, CPU fan and Heatsink replaced in
the last week.

So my problem is:

I've installed Windows Vista and was get a few not responding applications
too many for my liking as I have had Vista installed on a Dimension 8300 and
wasn't doing this. I decided to install Windows XP, everything was working
ok for awhile and now getting errors about sending Microsoft a detailed
report about certain programs, from Nvidia control panel to other third
party applications including windows applications.

So I guess it's something to do with the computer.

Any information would be helpful, cheers

You need to provide some specifics about the errors, when they occur, the
form of them, and the exact wording. Have you researched them with Google?
Since these errors have recently started what changed between then and now?

likely suspect are heat and memory.
do you run a program to check temps and fans. speed fan is a good one.

also might consider taking the memory out and reseating it.
