error messages

Help!!! I am recieving an error message saying that the particular program
needs to close due to an error, it is happening on several programs.
Here is the list so far:
Disc clean up
norton internet security 2006 virus scan
Ad-aware se personal
and during an online virus scan from syamtec the internet explorer had to
close as well.
Any idea as to why and how to fix would be gratefully appreciated.
I am running windows xp home

i am having similar problems with these error messages for number of
programs...
can anyone help??? pleasseeee
