I have had problems for the past week. uninstalled my anitvirus, shutdown
computer and modem, restarted computer but still getting an error message.

Unable to send or receive messages for the pop.telus.net account. The
connection to the server has failed.

Server: 'pop.telus.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes
Socket Error: 10061

I have contacted my internet provider and they say its my antivirus(which is
now uninstalled) what do I do?

I have windows vista on a HP Pavilion Labtop. The computer is only 6 months
old. My nephew was using the computer a week a go and I can not receive
email since then. Who knows what he did !!
Help

Are you sure the Telus mail server works with port 995/SSL?
I can't find anything that confirms that setting.
Try the standard port 25 for SMTP, no SSL.
