What causes error message c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe -we are new to Vista
and need to know how to fix this problem.

Please give us the full, exact text of the error message and we'll try
to figure it out.
 
When I boot up I am getting a C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe window come up onto
the desktop with the message ERROR: Access is denied. After a short while
this disappears.

Can you tell me how to stop this message appearing?
