Error message

Can anyone help me with this error message ?

Server Response: '-ERR An authentication mechanism MUST be entered', Port:
110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC18

Go to Tools, Accounts, select the account, Properties, Servers,
uncheck the box "Log on using Secure Password Authentication."

Thank you Gary, now its popping up with a box asking me for my user name and
password. Its a box which says windows security at the top and asking for the
password to log on to my server.

When i type my user name a nd password in is dosen`t recognise it !

HELP !

Make sure you type CAPITALS and lower case in your password when
required. Some servers check for this.

Make sure you are typing you account name as required. I don't know whether
NTL World wants it with or without @ntlworld.com.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled.
