Once I boot up I instantly get an error stating the following:

Cannot find file C:\winnt]system32\system32.exe' (or one of its components)

I need to click OK in order to erase it.

Anyone know how to get rid of this? Thank you..

Tried a google search?
system32.exe is a virus/trojan its not a win2k file
suggest you run an AV scan.
Also download, update and run both Adaware and Spybot

Its a virus or worm

Take a look at this page:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.kwbot.f.worm.html

This is 1 of 3 that symantec list, but the other 2 have system32.exe in the
WINNT directory, whereas, the above link is 'system32\system32.exe'

Have you been using Kazaa or iMesh?

Other 2 Symantec list:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/backdoor.sysxxx.html

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/[email protected]

I think its the top link anyway

I suggest you download SpyBot Search & Destroy. For me its easily the best &
its also FREE. You can download it here (mirror):

http://ejrs.com/spybot/spybotsd13.exe

Homepage:

http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html

Its a superb spyware detector!!! I wouldn't use anything else!!!

DO NOT EVER DOWNLOAD 'ADWARE AWAY'

Please read about FALSE POSITIVES on the following page:

http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

Adware Away says the system is clean & then Spybot Search & Destroy then
finds more.

I also know someone who had Adware Away on their system with McAfee
antivirus software. They got a DOS attack, could only get on MSN Messenger.
I sent them SpyBot Search & Destroy (via MSN Messenger) to clean their
system, which it did & they were able to get back on the Internet etc.
Whereas, Adware Away said their system was clean. There ISP (NTL UK) came
out & couldn't fix the problem & hadn't a clue either. So, you see, the
above is a little evidence against Adware Away & for SpyBot Search &
Destroy.

I hope this helps
