error message windows media technologies

hi i seem to have lost my windows media player i have tried to download
another but after its gone throught the motions i get the error message this
version of windows media technologies is incompatible with this version of
windows im running windows xp please help thanks sue xx

I don't quite have the same error message you do, but after downloading Media
Player 10, then trying to open ANY Windows Media icon, I get a message which
says "An internal application error has occurred. I have no idea of where
else to go on this, and am getting a huge runaround on these various sites
and options on this Windows Media site. Any clues on this? There are no sense
mesages, error codes or anything. And all was working just fine before I
tried to do the upgrade to version 10. I'm at (e-mail address removed) if anyone
has any ideas on this.
