Error message when Outlook starts

OS=WinXP
MS Office Professional 2007 -- Outlook-2007, SP1

Every time I start Outlook, I get the following error message: "The data
file 'Personal Folders' was not closed properly. This file is being checked
for problems."

Although Outlook eventually starts, subsequently I get a message that the
files were checked and all is well. This is annoying because I have closed
the program correctly when I exited.

Someone suggested the problem is caused by the Add-ons in Outlook. If so, I
did not add any, but how can I get rid of them?

Often if Outlook doesn't close properly, it's because something is holding it
open. The usual suspects are antivirus integration with Outlook, synch
software for a handheld, FAX software, Add Ins or COMs.

I do have sync software for both my cell phone and my palm. However with
Outlook 2002 (which I had prior to upgrading to Outlook 2007), this problem
did not occur. I have removed all other add-ins, so that shouldn't be
causing the problem.

Also, I do have antivirus software (McAfee), but again, it was the same
softwre under Outlook 2002, with no similar problem
