Hi,
I just got a new Dell computer (Inspiron 8300) with Win
XP. I transferred all my files from the old computer. Now
when I try to open some folders, I get the following
error message:
***The instruction at "0x77f580db" referenced memory
at "0x0070006a". The memory could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the program
CLick on CANCEL to debug the program***
I never had that problem with these folders on my old
computer (which runs Windows 98). In a few cases, I was
able to remedy this by deleting any dashes in the folder
name (eg in "2004-01-25 Golden Globes"), but in other
cases the error message still appears, in some cases also
in folders that never had dashes in the name.
The only entry about that I could find at the Microsoft
Support site was this one:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;840114&Product=winxp It's similar but not the same, so
I am doubtful the hotfix they list would work. Does
anyone have an idea how I can fix this?
Thanks,
Chris
